US Pressured Pakistan Diplomatically for Ceasefire: British Magazine

London (Monitoring Desk): A report by a British magazine has revealed that the United States exerted diplomatic pressure on Pakistan before the temporary ceasefire with Iran, in an effort to persuade Tehran to agree to a truce.

According to the report, while the US maintained a tough public stance against Iran, it was simultaneously engaged in behind-the-scenes efforts to de-escalate tensions and resolve the conflict. Sources indicated that American officials had been in contact with Pakistan for several weeks, urging it to bring Iran to the negotiating table to reduce regional tensions and reopen key maritime routes.

It was further reported that Pakistan played a crucial mediatory role and succeeded in convincing Iran to agree to the ceasefire. These behind-the-scenes diplomatic efforts ultimately led to a two-week temporary truce between the two sides.

Experts believe this development highlights how global powers often pursue dialogue and negotiation privately, even while adopting firm public positions. In this context, Pakistan’s role has been described as significant and prominent in facilitating the process.
