Old Trafford (Sports Desk) — The referees’ organization PGMOL has declared the VAR decision on Erling Haaland’s decisive goal in the Premier League match between Manchester City and Manchester United to be incorrect.
In the match played at Old Trafford on Sunday, Haaland put the ball into the net in the 60th minute, but the assistant referee ruled it offside and disallowed the goal.
Later, a VAR review judged Haaland to be onside and awarded the goal, resulting in Manchester City winning the match 0-1.
According to PGMOL, VAR overlooked the potential impact of Manchester City player Enzo Fernandez’s position.
The organization said Fernandez was in an offside position and was attempting to head the ball.
