California (Web Desk) – Popular messaging application WhatsApp has begun rolling out a new feature for Android and iOS users, which will suggest sending the most recently saved photo or video from the gallery as soon as a chat is opened.
Under the new feature, a small preview of a photo or video will appear above the chat bar. In some cases, the camera icon will temporarily be replaced by a preview of that photo or video.
When users click on the suggested photo or video, it will not be sent immediately. Instead, the editing option will open, allowing users to add captions and stickers according to their preferences.
Users will also have the option to ignore the suggestion and continue their conversation as usual.
WhatsApp will select the most recently saved file in the gallery, whether it is a regular photo, a screenshot or a video saved from another application.
The feature will be automatically activated as soon as it becomes available on a user's account. However, users will also be able to disable it according to their preferences by going to the Chats section in Settings and selecting the "Recent Media Suggestions" option.
According to WhatsApp, the new feature is being rolled out gradually, and more users will gain access to it in the coming weeks.
