Karachi (Showbiz Desk) — Pakistani actor Gohar Rasheed, in a recent podcast, expressed his views on the style of some posters and slogans used in the Aurat March, saying that raising a voice for women’s rights is necessary; however, the approach should be respectful and appropriate.
Gohar Rasheed stated that women should not be portrayed solely on the basis of their gender in any situation. He said that this is also why he opposes item numbers in films, as such songs give the impression of presenting women merely as objects.
The actor criticized some posters used in the Aurat March, saying that opinions can also be presented in a more respectful, positive, and effective manner.
Following Gohar Rasheed’s statement, different reactions emerged on social media. Some users supported his viewpoint, saying that objections can be raised regarding the style of certain slogans and posters, while many others disagreed with his opinion.
