London (Showbiz Desk): Meghan Markle, the American actress and wife of Prince Harry, who stepped back from the British royal family, is reportedly deeply distressed by serious allegations involving child abuse against her father, Thomas Markle Sr.
According to British magazine Hello!, Meghan has travelled abroad for a short holiday with her husband, Harry, and their children, seven-year-old Archie and five-year-old Lilibet. She reportedly wants to spend time with close friends away from media attention.
According to the report, Meghan’s half-brother, Thomas Jr., has claimed that he found images depicting child sexual abuse among their father’s belongings.
Foreign media reports say Meghan is deeply upset by the matter and became tearful while looking at her daughter and thinking about the children affected. Her friends and acquaintances have also been expressing their sympathy through messages.
Meghan Markle and her father have been estranged since 2018. In a statement on the recent controversy, Meghan said the decision to keep her father away from her children had been made for their protection. She expressed hope that authorities were also taking steps to safeguard children in other families.
