Mumbai (Web Desk) — Hollywood’s first artificial intelligence-generated actress, Tilly Norwood, has given her first on-camera interview.
CNN host Elizabeth Wagmeister asked Tilly Norwood to perform a scene in an audition-style setting, in which she had to imagine that her pet dog had died.
The AI actress responded that if it were an audition, she might simply stand silently and “digitally feel” the grief. However, despite the initial instructions, Tilly was unable to deliver the required emotional scene, while the company behind her, Particle 6, had to spend several hours of computer processing to produce the complete scene.
After the experiment, the host pointed out that Tilly cannot act independently and requires continuous prompts and technical instructions to perform the desired actions.
Tilly’s creator, Eline van der Velden, wants the AI actress to eventually achieve a status similar to Scarlett Johansson or Natalie Portman. However, according to her, Tilly was not created to replace human actors.
Tilly Norwood has not yet appeared in any released film, but she will play the lead role in the upcoming feature comedy-drama film “Miss Aligned,” which will be produced through collaboration between human filmmakers and AI experts.
