Dushanbe (Pakistan News): Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has said that the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) can play a leading role in digital transformation and sustainable economic development. Pakistan supports increasing investment in agriculture, mining, minerals and information technology.
Addressing a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, Ishaq Dar said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) offers SCO member states opportunities to accelerate their shared journey towards economic integration. The Deputy Prime Minister said that Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif had presented a vision for Pakistan’s presidency of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. According to him, the organisation is founded on the principles of mutual trust and respect for diversity, while Pakistan will continue working with the SCO to promote regional connectivity.
Ishaq Dar said Pakistan was committed to implementing the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s agenda. He noted that the SCO region had the potential to become a centre of global economic growth and that the organisation had expanded its scope across various sectors, including trade, infrastructure, culture and innovation.
