KP Government Decides to Expand Safe City Project to Multiple Districts

Peshawar (Commerce Desk): The government has decided to expand the Safe City Project, which was initially launched in Peshawar, to other districts of the province, including the merged tribal districts.

According to budget documents, Rs. 5.8 billion has been allocated for the project in various districts for the upcoming financial year, while Rs. 350 million has been estimated for the establishment of a command and control center in Peshawar.

The project aims to curb crime and control terrorist incidents, and will be extended to South Waziristan, North Waziristan, Orakzai, Kurram, Khyber, Mohmand, Bajaur, Kohat, Tank, Mardan, Swat, Karak, and Mansehra.

An additional Rs. 700 million has also been proposed for the Peshawar Safe City Project, where over Rs. 2 billion has already been spent.

According to the documents, Rs. 1.8 billion has been allocated for Phase One in South Waziristan, North Waziristan, Orakzai, and Kurram, while Phase Two proposes expanding coverage to Khyber, Mohmand, and Bajaur.

Similarly, Rs. 500 million has been allocated for Kohat, Mardan, and Swat, Rs. 350 million for Karak and Tank, and an initial Rs. 20 million has been proposed for Mansehra.
