Recep Tayyip Erdogan Warns of Action if Iran or Lebanon Is Attacked

Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned that any attack on Iran or Lebanon would be considered an attack on Turkey, raising concerns of further escalation in the already tense regional situation.

According to Arab media reports, Erdogan, while commenting on the Middle East situation, said the growing war-like atmosphere in the region is deeply alarming and could lead to dangerous consequences.

Addressing Israel, he urged it to refrain from provocations and avoid creating obstacles to the peace process, warning that otherwise a strong response would follow.

The Turkish president stated that Israel would have to pay the price for undermining regional peace, adding that if negotiations fail, action may become inevitable.

He further emphasized that Turkey will take all necessary steps to protect its interests and ensure regional stability, and will not hesitate to make critical decisions when required.

Erdogan also noted that despite the ongoing tensions, civilians continue to be targeted even during ceasefire periods, calling such actions unacceptable.
