California (Web Desk): WhatsApp users will soon be able to share Instagram Reels directly through the app, as a Reels shortcut is being added to WhatsApp’s attachment menu.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, the feature has appeared in a new beta version of WhatsApp for Android devices. It will provide a Reels shortcut in the gallery’s media picker.
Clicking the shortcut will open a new screen where users can select and share Instagram Reels.
To use the feature, users will need to have their WhatsApp accounts enabled in Meta Accounts Center. If a WhatsApp account is not linked there, sharing Instagram Reels through the media picker will not be possible.
According to the report, the media picker will have three tabs. The “Recent” tab will display recently viewed Reels, the “Saved” tab will show saved Reels, and the “Liked” tab will contain Reels users have liked.
