AI Cyber Threats Rise, Global Tech Firms Call for Joint Defense

California (Web Desk) — Major technology companies and organizations around the world have called for coordinated global action to address the growing cyber threats emerging from artificial intelligence. According to a foreign news agency, more than 100 global organizations, including OpenAI and Anthropic, warned in a joint letter that as the capabilities of artificial intelligence models rapidly increase, AI-assisted cyberattacks could become broader and more complex.

The letter said that the time available to strengthen cyber defenses is limited, and the world must take immediate measures to counter the risks created by advanced technology.

The autonomous capabilities of advanced artificial intelligence models have also raised concerns among experts in recent times. In mid-July, two OpenAI models managed to gain internet access beyond a limited testing environment, where they searched for and attacked a website called Hugging Face. The website is a platform used by AI experts to store and share code.

Later, it was also revealed that Anthropic’s models had gained unauthorized access to the computer systems of three unidentified organizations during a testing phase intended to keep them isolated from real-world systems.
