First Shipment of Russian Diesel to US Expected Within Three Weeks

MOSCOW (Monitoring Desk): Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak has said that it could take at least two to three weeks to dispatch the first shipment of Russian diesel to the United States.

Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the ongoing Russian Energy Week forum in Moscow, Novak explained that several steps must be completed before the fuel can be delivered. These include finalizing an agreement, loading the fuel onto a vessel, arranging the ship and dispatching it to the buyer. He said completing these procedures would take two to three weeks, making it important to finalize the deal promptly.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump discussed the possible supply of petroleum products during a telephone conversation on October 9. During the call, Putin expressed Moscow’s willingness to supply Russian oil and petroleum products to the United States and global markets.

According to Novak, Russia is prepared to lift restrictions on diesel exports before the scheduled deadline. He said Russia could supply 300,000 tonnes of diesel in October, 500,000 tonnes in November and one million tonnes in December.

The Russian deputy prime minister added that monthly diesel supplies could subsequently be increased to as much as three million tonnes.

Meanwhile, the US administration has also issued a general licence authorizing the supply of Russian diesel to the global market. The licence remains valid until April 7, 2027.

The Russian Energy Week forum is being held in Moscow from October 14 to 16. The event is organized in cooperation with the Russian government, the Ministry of Energy and the Moscow city administration.
