Alleged Cyberattack on ABP News Disrupts Broadcast and Digital Services

New Delhi (Monitoring Desk) — According to Indian media reports, unknown hackers have targeted another major Indian news channel, ABP News, in a cyberattack that disrupted its broadcast and digital services.

Reports say the attack caused temporary suspension of ABP News transmissions, while the channel’s Android and iOS mobile applications were also affected.

It is claimed that hackers displayed Quranic verses and a video on some online streaming platforms; however, the channel has not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.

ABP News is among India’s major private news channels, with its YouTube platform reportedly having around 15 million subscribers and monthly viewership reaching up to 124 million, according to various reports.

The channel was launched in 1998 as Star News and later renamed ABP News.

Cybersecurity experts say that if these reports are confirmed, the incident could pose a major challenge to India’s digital infrastructure and cybersecurity system. They added that such incidents highlight the need for stronger security measures for media organizations and digital platforms.
