Quetta (Pakistan Khabar) — Balochistan Interior Minister Zia Langau has claimed that security forces foiled an alleged attempt by a proscribed organization to use minor girls for suicide attacks.
Addressing a press conference, Zia Langau said security agencies remain continuously engaged in efforts to prevent terrorism. According to him, terrorist elements in southern Balochistan attempted to lure minor girls and prepare them for suicide attacks.
The provincial minister said that 16-year-old Zainab and 12-year-old Fatima were allegedly deceived and taken from Makran and kept at a location for approximately 40 days, where they were being prepared for a suicide attack.
He claimed that members of the organization killed between eight and 10 members of Zainab’s family, including her husband, while a man named Saif was also killed after refusing to cooperate with the organization. According to him, after Saif’s death, a local commander contacted his wife, Zainab.
Zia Langau said terrorist elements are attempting to mislead young people and use them for their own objectives. He said the government is taking steps to provide the affected girls with education, healthcare and other basic facilities.
The Interior Minister said security forces are continuously conducting operations against terrorists and preventing numerous incidents before they occur. He said that instead of questioning the performance of security agencies after a single terrorist incident, their operations that prevent numerous attacks should also be taken into consideration.
