Dhaka (Monitoring Desk) – Continuous rains and severe flooding have caused widespread destruction in Bangladesh, with the death toll rising to 52, while more than one million people have been affected.
According to authorities, flood conditions remain critical in seven districts of the country, where several roads, bridges, and other infrastructure have suffered severe damage, making it difficult for relief teams to reach affected areas.
Reports state that the highest number of casualties occurred in the affected district of Cox’s Bazar, where floods caused extensive destruction.
Authorities said that around 267,918 families are trapped in floodwaters, and relief operations are underway to move them to safer locations.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Army, Navy, and other relief organizations are delivering assistance by boats to affected and remote areas, including food, clean drinking water, medicines, and medical facilities.
