Electricity Price Increased by Rs1.11 per Unit, Notification Issued

Islamabad (Commerce Desk): Another piece of bad news has emerged for electricity consumers as the price of electricity has been increased by Rs1.11 per unit under the August fuel adjustment.

NEPRA has issued a notification for the electricity price increase, which will apply to consumers across the country, including K-Electric customers. The additional amount will be recovered from consumers across the country, including Karachi, through their October electricity bills.

As a result of the August fuel adjustment, an additional burden of Rs19 billion will be transferred to consumers in total.

According to NEPRA, the increase of Rs1.11 per unit will not apply to lifeline consumers.
