New York (Web Desk) – The world-famous luxury car manufacturer Ferrari has come under intense criticism following the unveiling of its first fully electric vehicle.
The new model, named “Luce,” has reportedly been designed under the creative vision of renowned designer Sir Jony Ive. The word “Luce” means “light” in Italian. However, the design and overall concept of the vehicle have failed to meet expectations of both consumers and critics.
This marks the first time in Ferrari’s history that a five-seater electric car has been introduced. According to the company, the vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 96 km/h in just 2.5 seconds. It is priced at around $640,000, which is approximately 180 million Pakistani rupees.
The launch ceremony was attended by several prominent Italian figures, including the country’s president and even Pope Leo, the spiritual leader of the Christian community. Despite the high-profile event, market reaction remained negative.
Just one day after the launch, Ferrari’s stock reportedly fell by up to 8 percent, reflecting investor disappointment.
Critics, investors, and some political figures have questioned both the design and concept of the vehicle, while social media reactions have been mixed.
Experts say that although this marks an important step in the global electric vehicle market, Ferrari will need to do more to satisfy its traditional sports car enthusiasts.
