Rawalpindi (Pakistan Khabar) Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has arrived in Tehran on a visit to Iran.
According to Iranian media, Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni received Field Marshal Asim Munir and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, after which the two sides also held a detailed meeting.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Asim Munir is visiting Iran, accompanied by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
ISPR said the visit is part of Pakistan’s efforts to promote peace and stability in the region. Pakistan seeks lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
According to the Pakistan Army spokesperson, Field Marshal Asim Munir will focus on efforts for a peaceful resolution of the ongoing conflict in Iran.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said Pakistan is working to reduce tensions in the region. He added that bilateral relations and security issues would also be discussed during Field Marshal Asim Munir’s visit.
