Tehran (Monitoring Desk): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that the meeting between Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and the Iranian President was highly positive and held in a constructive environment.
In a message on the social media platform, Mohsin Naqvi said that Pakistan’s top leadership and the Iranian President held detailed discussions on the Iran-US conflict and the current situation in the Middle East. The rising tensions in the region and their possible impacts were also reviewed.
He said important consultations were held on resolving the Iran-US conflict, the future course of action and possible measures to reduce tensions in the region.
According to the Federal Interior Minister, the meeting also discussed necessary steps for the restoration of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. It was hoped that restoring the memorandum could pave the way for a comprehensive resolution of the conflict.
Mohsin Naqvi said the Iranian President openly presented his government’s position and concerns, which were discussed in a positive and constructive manner. Along with progress on important issues, emphasis was also placed on further advancing communication and consultation between the two countries.
He said the meeting concluded in a positive atmosphere, creating hope for lasting peace in the region. Further progress in diplomatic efforts to resolve the Iran-US conflict is expected.
