Lahore (Sports Desk): Argentine football legend Lionel Messi has shared the first look at a special jersey ahead of his final match for the national team.
The 39-year-old Messi shared a picture of the special Argentina jersey designed by Adidas on social media, writing, “One last match, a jersey for a lifetime.”
The traditional sky-blue and white Argentina jersey features a special design to make Messi’s farewell memorable. “Messi” and the number “10” are printed in gold on the back, while the “Sun of May” emblem from the Argentine flag has also been placed above his name.
Messi will play his final match for Argentina against Benin on October 6 at the Monumental Stadium in Buenos Aires. The match is being held as his farewell to international football.
Messi has so far scored 125 goals in 207 appearances for Argentina. He will not feature in the previously scheduled friendly matches against Bolivia and Burkina Faso, making the clash against Benin his 208th and final international appearance.
