Muzaffarabad (Pakistan News) According to the spokesperson of the Election Commission of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the general elections in Azad Kashmir will be held on 27 July as per the scheduled program. The spokesperson said that due to the constitutional term of the assembly and legal requirements, the election schedule was issued on 5 June.
He clarified that speculations regarding the postponement of the elections are baseless, and the election schedule has been issued entirely in accordance with constitutional and legal requirements. According to the spokesperson of the Election Commission, the electoral process is not being run for any political purpose. He said that holding timely elections is a constitutional responsibility.
It was further stated that transparent, free, and impartial elections will be ensured in Azad Kashmir.
