No Secret Talks Between Government and PTI, Says Shaukat Yousafzai

Peshawar (Pakistan Khabar): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Secretary Shaukat Yousafzai has said there are no backchannel negotiations between the federal government and PTI, adding that any talks would be held openly.

In a statement, Yousafzai said discussions at the parliamentary party meeting were an internal party matter. However, he stressed that PTI needed to reconsider its strategy.

He said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had benefited the most from the widening gap between state institutions and PTI.

According to Yousafzai, the meeting between the prime minister and the opposition leader had been delayed for too long. He also dismissed reports of a lack of confidence in Mahmood Khan Achakzai as baseless.

Accusing the federal government of treating Khyber Pakhtunkhwa unfairly, he demanded the immediate payment of all outstanding dues owed to the province.

He also raised questions about Sohail Afridi, Junaid Akbar and Babar Saleem Swati, saying that if these leaders were wanted in any cases, they should be brought before the courts.

The PTI leader alleged that the elected provincial government had been removed under the pretext of its failure to cooperate in the fight against terrorism. He stressed that implementation of the National Action Plan was essential.

Yousafzai further claimed that YouTubers were benefiting the most from the continued imprisonment of PTI founder Imran Khan. He said the party had failed to secure any relief for its founder despite three years having passed.
