Lahore (Pakistan Khabar): PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar has claimed that a situation resembling governor’s rule is currently in place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa without any formal announcement, alleging that the province has been brought under complete control and that authority rests with others despite elected representatives being present.
Speaking to the media in Lahore, Barrister Gohar said that he had come to Lahore to express solidarity with the sisters of PTI founder Imran Khan. According to him, the arrest of Imran Khan’s sisters is the worst form of political victimization, while four members of Imran Khan’s family and eight members of the National Assembly are under arrest and some ministers are also missing.
He said that their members of the provincial and National Assemblies are present in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but authority rests with others, which is dangerous for democracy.
Barrister Gohar said that his party wants a march that remains peaceful. He said that government circles are creating an impression regarding the long march that participants will attack state institutions, and this narrative should be countered.
He said that they know whom they need to talk to and that negotiations should take place to resolve political issues; however, unfortunately, talks are not currently moving forward.
The PTI chairman further said that political issues must be resolved through political means. Achakzai, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas and the PTI leadership are ready for negotiations, but the government’s offer of talks is currently limited to an announcement and no practical progress is visible.
He said that nothing in politics is final; however, certain elements are creating obstacles to resolving political issues.
