Islamabad (Commerce Desk): On the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif continued his meetings with global leaders and international figures, during which various matters including trade, investment, energy, health and mutual cooperation were discussed.
During his meeting with Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister discussed enhancing trade, energy, human resource development and bilateral cooperation, while reaffirming the commitment to promoting peace, stability and prosperity.
Shehbaz Sharif also met Austria’s Chancellor Christian Stocker and Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, with bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest discussed during the meetings.
During his meeting with Kenyan President William Ruto, both leaders expressed satisfaction over bilateral relations. The Prime Minister invited Kenyan investors to invest in Pakistan’s Special Economic Zones, while President William Ruto appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic role during the recent crisis in the Gulf and West Asia.
The Prime Minister also met Bill Gates, Chairman of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and appreciated the foundation’s support for polio eradication, maternal and child health, and other sectors in Pakistan.
During the meeting, interest was expressed in further expanding cooperation in health, agriculture, digital innovation and artificial intelligence. The Prime Minister also invited Bill Gates to visit Pakistan soon.
