Lahore (Sports Desk) — Pakistan women’s team top-order batter Gull Feroza has been fined and awarded a demerit point for violating the Code of Conduct.
According to details, Gull Feroza was fined 10 percent of her match fee for showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during the Women’s T20 Asia Cup match against Hong Kong. One demerit point was also added to her record.
In the match played in Dubai on Monday, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. In the fifth over of the innings, Gull Feroza attempted to play a sweep shot against Hong Kong spinner Kary Chan, but the ball struck her pad.
Following an appeal from Hong Kong, the umpire gave Gull Feroza out LBW. The batter expressed her displeasure at the decision, resulting in disciplinary action being taken against her for violating the Code of Conduct.
