KARACHI (Showbiz Desk): Pakistani actress and producer Hareem Farooq has encouraged aspiring filmmakers, saying that while filmmaking is undoubtedly challenging, it should not be considered impossible.
In a recent interview, Hareem Farooq was asked about the criticism and social media trolling directed at YouTuber Rajab Butt over his decision to enter the film industry.
Dismissing the criticism as insignificant, Hareem said such comments do not really matter. She emphasized that instead of discouraging people from trying their hand at filmmaking, they should be encouraged to pursue their ambitions.
The actress said anyone wishing to enter the filmmaking industry should be given opportunities and motivation to move forward. However, she added that filmmakers must also recognize their responsibility toward their audiences.
Hareem Farooq stressed that filmmakers should focus on producing quality films that audiences enjoy, enabling Pakistani cinema to establish its identity on the international stage as well.
Her remarks come as Rajab Butt prepares to make his big-screen acting debut in a film directed by Syed Faisal Bukhari. Actress Amar Khan is playing the lead role, while several other experienced performers are also part of the project.
