ISLAMABAD (Commerce Desk): The number of individuals filing income tax returns across Pakistan has surpassed 6.815 million, according to sources.
Sources said that more than 4.5 million individuals outside the salaried class had filed their tax returns, compared with over 5.2 million during the corresponding period last year.
According to the sources, more than 2.2 million salaried individuals have also submitted their tax returns.
Meanwhile, under the tax scheme introduced for small shopkeepers, 1,473 traders have filed their returns.
These include 137 newly registered traders and 1,336 who were already registered. Sources added that a total of 2,875 shopkeepers have registered under the scheme so far.
