Tehran (Monitoring Desk): Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has claimed that the human and military losses suffered by the US military during the war with Iran are far greater than the official figures released by the US government.
In a statement on the social media platform X, Abbas Araghchi said that in May, the US Congressional Research Service acknowledged that Iran’s armed forces had destroyed 42 US military aircraft, but the number has now reached 81.
In support of his claim, the Iranian foreign minister also questioned the condition of US military bases. He said that if US military bases had not suffered any major damage, why was the US Central Command not allowing a sitting senator to inspect those bases?
Abbas Araghchi also raised questions about the figures released by the US government regarding wartime losses. However, his claims regarding the destruction of aircraft and deaths of US military personnel could not be independently verified immediately, and it was also unclear what types of aircraft were included in the figure of 81.
