Tehran (Monitoring Desk): The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has claimed that it targeted U.S. military installations in the region in response to alleged American strikes on Iranian coastal areas.
However, the IRGC did not provide any details regarding the locations of the targets, the nature of the attacks, or potential damage caused.
Earlier, the United States had claimed that it targeted Iranian missile and drone storage facilities as well as coastal radar installations after Iran allegedly struck a commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz.
Following those developments, the IRGC stated that the American attack would be responded to and would not go unanswered.
According to Iranian state media, the IRGC said that its naval and air forces successfully neutralized a U.S. attack on Sirik Island, making its effects ineffective.
The statement further warned that any aggression would be met with a “swift and decisive” response at a time and place of Iran’s choosing, adding that any further action by the United States would face a strong retaliation.
