Iran-Pakistan Relations at Their Best, Says Iranian Spokesperson

Tehran (Monitoring Desk) Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei has described relations between Iran and Pakistan as being among their best stages, saying bilateral ties between the two countries are continuously improving.

During a press briefing, Esmail Baghaei said the scheduled visit of Pakistan’s Army Chief to Iran would focus on bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest between the two countries.

He said Iran and Pakistan are currently going through “one of the best stages” of their relationship and that the two countries remain in constant contact on regional issues as well as mutual cooperation.

The Iranian spokesperson, referring to the ongoing war against Iran, said Tehran did not start the war but defended its sovereignty and territorial integrity. According to him, Iran will not accept its opponents’ conditions for ending the war.

Esmail Baghaei said Iran would not allow any aggressor to determine the terms for ending the war, and state institutions remain committed to protecting the country’s sovereignty.

He further said that the party that started the war would have to answer for its actions, while Iran remains committed to defending its national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
