Tehran / Riyadh (Monitoring Desk): Amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East, Iran and Saudi Arabia have issued strong reactions against each other’s positions.
Iran has condemned the actions of the United States and Saudi Arabia in Iraq, while Saudi Arabia has described attacks attributed to Iran on Jordan as violations of international law.
In its statement, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the attacks carried out by the United States and Saudi Arabia in Iraq were against Iraqi sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the principles of the United Nations Charter.
According to Iran, the attacks also targeted locations linked to Iraqi state institutions and facilities established for Arbaeen pilgrims. The Iranian Foreign Ministry described these actions as inhumane and provocative, saying their purpose was to further increase tensions in the region.
Iranian officials expressed sorrow over the casualties caused by the attacks, offered condolences to the affected families, and expressed solidarity with the Iraqi government and people.
On the other hand, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attacks on Jordan attributed to Iran, saying such actions were against international law and the principles of good neighborliness.
Saudi Arabia expressed full support for Jordan and said it would continue supporting measures taken to protect Jordan’s security and stability.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry called on Iran to immediately stop actions against Jordan and other countries in the region and avoid steps that could affect peace and stability in the Middle East.
According to political analysts, recent developments involving Iran, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Jordan indicate that the regional situation is becoming more complicated, while the importance of diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions has increased.
