Iran Says It Can Boost Arms Production to Sustain a Prolonged War

Tehran (Monitoring Desk) — Iran has warned its adversary that it has ample capacity to manufacture the weapons required to sustain a prolonged war.

Iranian Ministry of Defence spokesperson Reza Talaei-Nik said the country’s production system was capable of manufacturing the weapons necessary for a long war.

He said weapons production during the war had increased two and a half times compared with pre-war levels. Iran had already established alternative and secure production sites, while the manufacturing of military equipment had not stopped for even a single day.

According to Reza Talaei-Nik, approximately 9,000 companies voluntarily participated in efforts to manufacture military equipment during the war.

He added that Ministry of Defence personnel were working alongside missile-launch teams, drone units, and the naval and air forces to improve weapons and military equipment in light of battlefield experience and prepare to counter emerging threats.

The Iranian Defence Ministry spokesperson clarified that Iran’s first priority was to meet its own military requirements. However, the country also intends to export surplus defence products.

He said Iran would first fulfil its domestic needs and increase surplus production for exports in the future.
