Washington (Monitoring Desk) — The Wall Street Journal has expressed concern in a report that the war with Iran could continue until January 2029.
According to US media, Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have conveyed their concerns in this regard to President Donald Trump.
The report said Iran could continue resisting despite US pressure, a naval blockade and sanctions, while the United States has prepared to maintain its military presence in the Middle East.
According to the report, the deployment of some US air defense units is being extended until 2027, while additional Marine forces and fighter aircraft will continue to rotate through the region. Iranian missile attacks are also feared to pose a threat to energy facilities in Gulf countries.
According to The Wall Street Journal, a prolonged war could create further instability in global oil markets.
