Bishkek (Turkey News) Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that if the United States fulfills its responsibilities and promises under the interim agreement reached in June, Iran will also immediately take corresponding steps.
According to Reuters, Masoud Pezeshkian made these remarks on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek. Iranian media reported that the president clarified Tehran’s position regarding the ongoing tensions with the United States and the agreement.
The Iranian president said that Tehran is ready to implement the terms of the interim agreement reached with the United States, but Washington must also fulfill its responsibilities.
According to Masoud Pezeshkian, if the United States fulfills its promises under the agreement reached in June, Iran will also respond positively immediately.
The statement comes at a time when tensions between Iran and the United States have once again escalated. Following recent military operations and mutual attacks, the prospects for negotiations and a possible political solution between the two countries have become a focus of international attention.
Iran has consistently maintained that mutual trust and adherence to commitments by both sides are essential for negotiations. According to Tehran, instead of unilateral measures, the United States must also fulfill its responsibilities.
On the other hand, disagreements over the interpretation and implementation of the interim agreement have already complicated relations between Washington and Tehran. Iran says that if the United States fulfills its previous commitments, Tehran may be willing to move the negotiation process forward.
President Pezeshkian’s latest statement is significant in that Iran has not completely rejected the possibility of negotiations, but has expressed conditional willingness to make progress in response to US actions.
