Karachi (Showbiz Desk) — Sindh Minister for Culture and Tourism Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah has claimed that the names of Mahira Khan and Fahad Mustafa were sent to the federal government twice for the Sitara-e-Imtiaz, but both nominations were rejected.
Addressing the opening ceremony of a theatre festival in Karachi, the provincial minister said that the Sindh Culture Department had submitted the names of both actors for the national award on the recommendation of a committee comprising prominent personalities.
According to Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, despite the nominations being sent twice, the federal government did not approve the recommendations to award the Sitara-e-Imtiaz to Mahira Khan and Fahad Mustafa.
He said that the Sindh government was also not informed of the reasons for the rejection of the nominations.
