Meta Agrees to Restrict Teen Use of Facebook and Instagram in US

New York (Web Desk): Meta has agreed to limit teenagers’ use of Facebook and Instagram in the United States under new agreements. According to media reports, teenage users will be able to use Facebook and Instagram for a maximum of 2 hours per day, while parents will be able to allow additional time. The company will also suspend teenagers’ access from midnight to 6 a.m., while push notifications will remain disabled during school hours.

Meta has reached agreements with nearly all US states to settle allegations that it made children and teenagers addicted to social media. Under these agreements, the company will pay up to $18 billion over the next 10 years and impose stricter restrictions on teenage users.

Following the agreements, the federal lawsuit against Meta has also been dismissed. The company had been accused of harming children and misleading the public about the safety features of its platforms.
