According to the Afghan journal “Hasht-e Subh,” a coordinated online campaign has been launched by citizens for the protection of women’s rights. The report states that public reaction increased following reports of arrests of some women in Herat.
During the campaign, a large number of people inside and outside the country have joined the protest movement and are expressing solidarity on social media.
Meanwhile, according to some reports, various human rights organizations have expressed concern over the treatment of women in Afghanistan and have called for close monitoring of the situation.
Experts say that due to the ongoing social and political conditions in Afghanistan, reactions are emerging from different segments of society and the methods of public expression are also changing.
