Pakistan, Belarus Agree to Expand Defence Cooperation

Islamabad (Pakistan Desk) – Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu visited Belarus, after which Pakistan and Belarus agreed to further expand bilateral defence cooperation.

During the visit, both sides discussed a roadmap for 2025–2027, focusing on joint defence production, technology transfer, and military collaboration.

The proposed areas of cooperation include advanced drones, microelectronics, optronics, and heavy military vehicles.

Pakistan also proposed providing basic and tactical pilot training to personnel of the Belarusian Air Force.

According to defence analyst Rear Admiral (Retd) Faisal Shah, Pakistan’s full membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) has expanded relations with Belarus beyond diplomacy into industrial and defence sectors.

He added that this development could lay the foundation for broader defence cooperation between Pakistan, Belarus, and Russia in the future.
