Pakistan Calls for Dialogue to Resolve US-Iran Tensions

Islamabad (Pakistan News) — Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that the ongoing dispute between Iran and the United States is not in the interest of any side, and Pakistan seeks uninterrupted trade and oil supplies through the Strait of Hormuz.

During the weekly briefing, Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi said Pakistan is concerned about the renewed escalation of tensions between Iran and the United States. He added that Islamabad is closely monitoring the regional situation and has urged all parties to exercise restraint.

The spokesperson said that Islamabad wants to continue implementing the memorandum of understanding and believes that negotiations and diplomacy are the best ways to resolve all issues.

Tahir Hussain Andrabi stated that the Iran-US conflict serves the interests of no party, while Pakistan supports ensuring global trade and the smooth flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz.

He said that the extraordinary situation in the Strait of Hormuz is also affecting countries of the Global South. He emphasized that the solution to all conflicts lies in dialogue and diplomatic efforts, adding that Pakistan will continue encouraging all parties to avoid war and pursue peaceful solutions.
