Pakistan-China Friendship to Enter New Era of Technology and Innovation: Maryam Nawaz

Lahore (Pakistan Khabar) — Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that the friendship between Pakistan and China is based on trust, mutual respect and time-tested relations, which now need to be taken into a new phase of data, technology and innovation.

In Beijing, Maryam Nawaz Sharif met He Zhongyu, the Party Secretary, during which matters of mutual interest and ways to further expand Pakistan-China cooperation were discussed.

Addressing the International Big Data Expo, the Punjab Chief Minister invited Chinese investors to invest in the province and said making Punjab a major hub of modern technology and the digital economy is a government priority.

She said the Punjab government is taking various steps to promote digital transformation and modern technology. The province’s youth are talented and equipped with modern skills, while they are being provided with technology education and necessary training.

According to Maryam Nawaz, the digital revolution is transforming the global economy, while the digital economy can create vast new employment opportunities. Artificial intelligence and big data will play a key role in future development.

She said artificial intelligence is being used in various sectors in Punjab, including education, healthcare, agriculture and the government system. She said China’s rapid digital development is a model Pakistan can follow.

The Chief Minister appreciated progress in the field of digital technology in Guizhou and said Pakistan would further enhance cooperation with China in technology and the digital sector. She said Punjab is a major market for agricultural production and the government is bringing fundamental changes to agriculture, while the province is playing an important role in meeting the country’s food requirements.

Maryam Nawaz urged Chinese investors to benefit from investment opportunities in Punjab in various sectors, including technology, the digital economy, artificial intelligence and agriculture.
