Pakistan Plans Global Bonds to Reduce Reliance on Friendly Nations

Islamabad (Commerce Desk) — The federal government has planned to raise funds by issuing bonds in international financial markets to reduce reliance on bilateral loans from friendly countries.

According to sources, three consortia have been appointed for this purpose, while Pakistan is expected to receive $10 billion from the United States for foreign exchange reserves by the end of September.

The amount will not be provided as a direct loan. Instead, it aims to stabilize the local currency and foreign exchange reserves while sending a positive economic signal to global financial markets.
