Islamabad (Pakistan News) Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi has said that Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye have reaffirmed their commitment to further expanding cooperation in the political, economic, security, and cultural fields.
During the weekly briefing, the spokesperson said that the three countries agreed to continue joint efforts to promote regional peace and stability and reduce tensions, exercise restraint, and seek solutions to crises through dialogue and diplomacy.
He said that it was also agreed to further institutionalize cooperation under the Makkah Agreement, including mutual solidarity and defense cooperation.
According to Tahir Andrabi, an arrangement for a Secretary-General for cooperation among the three countries will be established in Saudi Arabia. Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye will promote mutual cooperation in various fields, including industrial cooperation and joint technology development, while the armed forces of the three countries will continue to play their role in regional peace and stability.
The spokesperson said that the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister held meetings with his counterparts, the Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the United Nations Secretary-General, and other important personalities, while he also met Türkiye’s Defense Minister in Istanbul.
He said that regional and global developments were discussed during various high-level meetings. The prime minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to peace, restraint, dialogue, and diplomacy, saying that reconciliation is the most viable path toward achieving lasting regional peace and stability.
Pakistan will also host the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Islamabad during its chairmanship of the organization next year.
