Islamabad (Pakistan Khabar) — Foreign Office spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan has said that bilateral defence cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia is continuing, but full implementation of the defence agreement will require time.
During the weekly briefing in Islamabad, the Foreign Office spokesperson condemned Houthi attacks in Saudi Arabia and said Pakistan had expressed solidarity with the Saudi leadership and people and would continue to support Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
According to Sajjad Haider Khan, Pakistani forces are present in Saudi Arabia for training and logistical purposes. He said some time would be required to implement the defence agreement, while further aspects of defence cooperation between the two countries would emerge in the near future.
The spokesperson said Kashmir is an unresolved dispute on the United Nations agenda, and Indian claims and actions cannot change its disputed status. Jammu and Kashmir is also shown as a disputed territory on the official United Nations map; therefore, Indian actions have no legal validity.
Sajjad Haider Khan also condemned the demolition of a mosque in the Indian city of Saharanpur, saying the incident brings back memories of the Babri Mosque.
Regarding Afghan students, the Foreign Office spokesperson said the impression that restrictions had been imposed on them was incorrect. No decision has been taken to impose a complete ban on Afghan students, while Afghan students holding valid visas and enrolled in degree programmes can complete their education.
