Islamabad (Sports Desk) — Pakistan’s Under-21 hockey team has departed for Muscat to play a test series against Oman’s senior national hockey team.
Head coach Olympian Ayaz Mahmood, coach Olympian Sameer Hussain, and coach Azfar Yaqub are also accompanying the national squad.
According to the schedule, Pakistan U21 hockey team will play the first test match against Oman on July 29, while the second match will be held on July 31, the third on August 1, the fourth on August 2, and the fifth and final test match on August 4.
President of the Pakistan Hockey Federation Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani expressed his best wishes for the national team and said that sending players from the Under-21 camp for the Oman test series aims to encourage them and provide valuable international experience.
He said that when young players compete against foreign teams at the international level, their confidence and morale will further improve, which will prove beneficial for the future of Pakistan hockey.
