Pakistan’s IT Exports Surpass $4.5 Billion for the First Time

Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan’s Information Technology (IT) sector achieved a new export milestone during the 2025–26 fiscal year, with IT exports surpassing $4.5 billion for the first time.

According to the report, IT exports recorded an increase of approximately 29 percent compared with $3.475 billion in the previous fiscal year, reflecting the sector’s rapid growth.

The major contributors to this increase include significant expansion in software development, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Software as a Service (SaaS), and the gaming industry.

Pakistani IT companies strengthened their presence in Japan, Singapore, and other Asia-Pacific markets, contributing to higher export earnings. In addition, the expansion of small and medium-sized technology firms into new international markets played a key role in this achievement.

According to experts, the growing global demand for Pakistan’s digital services, expansion into new markets, and rising international confidence have been the primary drivers behind the significant increase in IT exports. They added that this progress reflects the strengthening capabilities of Pakistan’s digital sector and its growing integration with the global economy.
