LAHORE (Sports Desk): Sri Lankan opening batter Pathum Nissanka will miss the tri-nation ODI series featuring Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka due to an injury. Despite completing his medical examination, he has not received medical clearance to return to action.
Nissanka sustained a left thigh injury during Sri Lanka’s recent tour of England. Lahiru Udara has been added to Sri Lanka’s 16-member squad as his replacement.
The seven-match tri-nation series will be played from October 18 to 31, with matches scheduled to take place in Rawalpindi and Lahore.
Former Sri Lanka captain Charith Asalanka has also been dropped from the squad following disappointing performances in the ODI matches during the tour of England. He scored one, 11 and seven runs in his last three innings, respectively.
