Karachi (Commerce Desk) President Asif Ali Zardari has directed the adoption of an integrated strategy for the development of Keti Bandar.
President Asif Zardari said reliable road connectivity, electricity and water supply, industrial infrastructure, and other essential facilities should be ensured alongside the project.
He said Keti Bandar could be developed as an additional maritime gateway for Pakistan, further strengthening the country’s port and logistics system.
The President also stressed prioritizing environmental protection of the Indus Delta, along with the interests and livelihoods of the local fishing community.
It is worth mentioning that Chinese company CHEC has presented the initial master plan for Keti Bandar Port, with the preliminary engineering cost of the first phase estimated at approximately $522.34 million.
