Priyanka Chopra Faced Numerous Challenges During Early Days in Cinema

Mumbai (Showbiz Desk): Renowned Bollywood and Hollywood actress Priyanka Chopra spoke openly about the difficulties and challenges she faced during the early years of her acting career.

Speaking during a special session at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity conference, Priyanka Chopra said that when she entered the film industry, the journey was not easy for her because her parents belonged to the medical profession and had no connection with or experience in the film industry.

According to the actress, the film industry at that time was considered a limited and exclusive field where it was not easy for newcomers to receive guidance and opportunities.

Priyanka Chopra said that since her parents were doctors, they also did not know what process needed to be followed to progress in the film industry. According to her, people entering the filmmaking sector in those days had to determine their own path and decide in which field they wanted to work.

She said that Indian cinema at that time did not enjoy the global recognition it has today, and it was often said that Indian films could never achieve worldwide popularity comparable to Hollywood because they were not produced in the English language.

According to the actress, she was frequently told that Indian cinema could not compete with Hollywood because films in India were made in Hindi, Telugu, Marathi and other languages that people around the world did not understand.

Priyanka Chopra emphasized that circumstances have changed over time and that today Indian cinema has established a strong and unique identity for itself on the global stage.
