Protest Held in New York Ahead of RSS Chief’s Speech

New York (Monitoring Desk) — A protest was held against India’s Hindu nationalist organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) ahead of a speech by its chief, Mohan Bhagwat. According to recent reports, people associated with various religious and human rights organizations protested outside New York City Hall, objecting to Bhagwat’s visit and the event.

The protesters accused the RSS of allegedly promoting hatred and extremism against religious minorities in India, particularly Muslims and other communities, and demanded that Mohan Bhagwat’s speech be stopped.

According to reports, the protesters also appealed to US authorities to cancel the RSS chief’s visa and impose sanctions. New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani also expressed concern over the RSS event, describing the organization as a divisive movement.
