Mumbai (Showbiz Desk) — Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband and Indian businessman Raj Kundra has revealed that while he was in prison, hearing rumors of his divorce from his wife caused him severe mental distress and made his life feel meaningless.
In a special interview, Raj Kundra recalled the incident, saying that while in prison, he learned through the media that Shilpa Shetty was leaving him and that the couple was going to divorce. The report later proved to be merely a rumor, but it caused him severe distress and he was unable to sleep throughout the night.
According to Raj Kundra, nothing was more important to him than his wife and family, and in that state he began having thoughts of ending his life.
He said his condition improved after speaking with Shilpa Shetty the following day. The actress rejected all divorce rumors and expressed her trust in him, which gave him encouragement.
It is worth noting that Raj Kundra married Shilpa Shetty in 2009. In July 2021, Mumbai Police’s crime branch arrested him on allegations of producing and distributing obscene content through mobile applications. After spending around two months in custody, he was released on bail in September 2021.
Raj Kundra made his acting debut in 2023 with the biographical drama film “UT 69.”
